Robert Kelker-Kelly had stepped away from Hollywood years before his death on October 3. But months earlier, his name returned to headlines after serious allegations from a former co-star.
Now, new details about his final hours have emerged. A report of chest pain, a frantic emergency response, and what callers said about where he was found offer a clearer account of what happened that night.

The newly released 911 audio also captures a critical problem facing the person trying to help the actor before emergency crews could reach him.

Kelker-Kelly died Saturday, October 3, at his home in St. Peters, Missouri. He was 62. According to TMZ, the St. Peters Police Department said officers were called to the home at about 8:16 p.m. for a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing.

Before he became unresponsive, Kelker-Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain. CPR was already underway while police and emergency medical personnel were traveling to the home. Once there, officers and paramedics continued life-saving efforts, but they were unsuccessful.

Authorities said there was nothing suspicious at the scene. They described the circumstances as appearing consistent with a medical event. However, an official cause of death had not been released as of Monday, October 5.

That distinction is important. Although dispatch traffic referred to a cardiac arrest, the reported medical emergency does not establish an official cause of death.

The dispatch recordings provide a more detailed account of the emergency responders encountered. According to Page Six, an automated voice reported a "cardiac arrest" at Kelker-Kelly’s address.

Another responding officer described the patient as a "62-year-old male" who was "not conscious" and "not breathing." The dispatcher said there were "units responding" and that "CPR is in progress."

But another detail in the recording revealed a major obstacle during those crucial moments. "Caller is unable to remove patient from bed," a responding officer said. The detail was also reported in a separate TMZ account, which said authorities were told that the caller could not move Kelker-Kelly from the bed.

Police had previously confirmed that officers were responding to a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing. The dispatch audio was consistent with the department’s earlier account that CPR was already being performed as police and EMS headed to the property.

Gaines said emergency personnel used advanced life-saving protocols after arriving. Kelker-Kelly was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement later said the medical examiner released his body to a local funeral home.

For soap fans, Kelker-Kelly remains closely associated with Bo Brady, one of the central characters on "Days of Our Lives." He played Bo from 1992 to 1995 after taking over the role from Peter Reckell.

During that period, Kelker-Kelly appeared opposite Kristian Alfonso, who played Hope Brady, and Lisa Rinna, who portrayed Billie Reed. His television career did not end with his departure from Salem. Kelker-Kelly later appeared on "Another World" and "General Hospital."

He eventually left acting and pursued a different career, becoming an aircraft pilot and flight instructor. For years, his life remained largely outside the Hollywood spotlight. Then, in early 2026, Rinna published allegations about their years working together.

Lisa Rinna Made Serious Allegations Months Before His Death
Rinna addressed Kelker-Kelly in her memoir, "You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It," while recounting her experiences in television. The actress, who later became widely known for "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," first joined "Days of Our Lives" as Billie Reed in 1992.
She remained with the soap until September 1995, when Krista Allen replaced her. Rinna later returned to the role from 2002 to 2003, from 2012 to 2013, and again in 2018. In her memoir, Rinna rejected past criticism that had characterized her as a Hollywood bully and instead pointed to Kelker-Kelly.
She called him the "biggest bully in Hollywood" and alleged that working with him had made her professional life extremely difficult. Rinna wrote that Kelker-Kelly made her life "a living hell. He was horrible to me."
She accused him of being verbally abusive, passive-aggressive, and manipulative during their time together. She also alleged that he played mind games with her. The two had to work closely because their characters were romantically connected on the soap, including in intimate scenes.
Rinna claimed Kelker-Kelly would sometimes stop speaking to her if she failed to meet what she understood to be his expectations. She portrayed their off-camera working relationship as hostile. Kelker-Kelly never publicly responded to those allegations.
Rinna Claimed Security Appeared After His Exit
Kelker-Kelly left "Days of Our Lives" in 1995, several months before Rinna’s own departure. Peter Reckell, who had previously played Bo Brady, returned to the role after Kelker-Kelly’s exit.
Rinna wrote that his departure brought her relief. She also made another striking allegation about what happened afterward. According to her memoir, NBC provided security to both Rinna and Alfonso after Kelker-Kelly left the series.
"We had rent-a-cops parked outside our houses and trailers for three weeks and were driven to and from work," Rinna wrote.
Rinna maintained that she did not believe she was in physical danger. She suggested in her account that the network may have been taking precautions.
Her allegations were her account of events, and Kelker-Kelly did not publicly provide his version before his death. That leaves Rinna’s claims as allegations that were never publicly answered by the actor at their center.
Rinna’s Memoir Went Far Beyond Their Dispute
Kelker-Kelly was only one subject in Rinna’s memoir. She also revisited her years on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," where she appeared from 2013 to 2022.
In the opening chapter, Rinna recalled her first day of filming and claimed producers worried that the program was "boring" and wanted stronger material. She wrote that cast member Brandi Glanville stirred up drama and reassured others that editing could influence what viewers ultimately saw.
Rinna also disclosed that Bravo fined her $50,000 over comments she posted on Instagram. She said the fine became a significant factor in her eventual departure from the reality series. Despite the conflict surrounding her final season, Rinna wrote that she enjoyed much of her time on the show.
She described only her final year as dark and negative, while remembering earlier seasons for their humor and memorable moments.
Her Mother’s Death Also Became Part of the Story
The memoir addressed a far more personal period in Rinna’s life: the death of her mother in November 2021 at age 93. Rinna wrote that she was expected to fly to Mexico to film Season 12 just three days after her mother’s death.
She said she did not view the request as optional, although she acknowledged that she technically could have refused. Rinna believed the network should have encouraged her to take time away to grieve.
Instead, she traveled to Mexico and described herself as being in shock at the time and feeling unsupported by production. The actress also wrote about disagreements with "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" host and executive producer Andy Cohen.
She addressed long-running speculation about her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, as well, stating that he is heterosexual. Rinna wrote that there would be nothing wrong with being gay but said rumors about Hamlin’s sexuality were unfounded.
Her memoir also discussed her daughters and the attention they had received from high-profile suitors. The book’s approach was clear: Lisa Rinna was identifying people and recounting events from her own perspective rather than changing names.
Kelker-Kelly became part of that public reckoning only months before his death.
Questions About His Death Remain
Despite the newly released emergency audio, authorities had not announced an official cause of death by October 5. What has been established is that Kelker-Kelly reportedly complained of chest pain before becoming unresponsive, according to police information provided to TMZ.
At about 8:16 p.m. on October 3, emergency responders were sent to his St. Peters home following a report that he was unconscious and not breathing. The dispatch audio identified the emergency as a cardiac arrest.
CPR was underway, while the caller reportedly faced another difficulty: Kelker-Kelly was in bed and could not be moved from it. Police, first responders, and paramedics attempted to save him. Their efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities found nothing suspicious, and law enforcement said the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event. Kelker-Kelly leaves behind a television career that took him through three major daytime dramas and eventually into a life outside acting.
His death also came during an unusual final chapter in his public story. Decades after their time together on "Days of Our Lives," Rinna’s memoir brought their alleged conflict back into public view.
Her allegations became headlines. Kelker-Kelly never publicly answered them before his death at 62.
Now, the latest details concern not an old Hollywood dispute but the emergency inside his Missouri home — beginning with reported chest pain and ending with responders trying unsuccessfully to save his life.
