Hayden Panettiere’s Final Hours: What She Did Before She Was Found Unresponsive Miles from Home

Hayden Panettiere traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina on Saturday, then went to a Greenville apartment where she was later found unresponsive.
The “Nashville” actress made the trip with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, according to multiple reports. The details of that trip help explain why she was staying so far from home.

Panettiere starred as Juliette Barnes on “Nashville,” the television series that ran for six seasons. Her role on the country music drama became one of her best-known television performances.

Panettiere Flew to South Carolina With Brian Hickerson

Panettiere and her on-and-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, flew from Los Angeles to South Carolina on Saturday, August 15, 2026, according to TMZ.

After landing, they went to a unit at the Judson Mill Lofts apartment complex in Greenville, according to Page Six.

Panettiere and Brian Hickerson were photographed together in Los Angeles in January 2019. More than seven years later, multiple reports said the on-and-off couple flew from Los Angeles to South Carolina together on August 15, 2026.

The outlets provided different details about the unit. Page Six said it confirmed the apartment was an Airbnb, while TMZ, citing a source, reported that Hickerson and his brother were living there.

Authorities Found Her Unresponsive at the Greenville Apartment

The coroner’s office said Panettiere, a California resident, was found unresponsive inside the South Carolina home “where she had been temporarily staying,” CNN reported. Local police said the address was part of an apartment complex.

TMZ also noted that two ambulances were dispatched to the apartment. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that no one was wheeled out, and both ambulances left without a patient. Hayden Panettiere died on August 16. She was 36.
