“I call the style ‘African Cowboy,’” McEntire said. “Throughout the house, I have photos that I have taken on my trips to Africa which are mixed with Western-inspired elements like rich leathers, dark woods, and steerheads. I wanted a space that is 100 percent authentically me.”

As for home decor, when asked what makes a house feel like home, McEntire answered, “Flowers — I love flowers. I love to arrange them too. Whether I pick them up in the grocery store or somebody brings me a bouquet, I love to get the vases out and start arranging.”

“I get the biggest kick out of them,” the singer added. As for her preferred color palette, she favors understated elegance. “Neutrals. I’m more neutrals than bright colors,” she said.

One of the most welcoming areas in her house is the den, where she often gathers with friends and family. With plush seating and personal touches that reflect her life and career, the space is designed for relaxation and meaningful conversations.

The country star was raised with strong Southern values, and she carries those traditions into the way she treats her guests. The moment someone steps through her door, she makes sure they feel at ease.

“When a guest comes to your house, the first thing you say is, ‘Would you like something to drink?’” she said. “That’s the Southern hospitality of ‘Have you eaten?’ — and it’s just good manners, too.”

Many of the singer’s home habits stem from her childhood. “There were four of us kids growing up in a very small house, so if you didn’t pick up your things and get them out of the living room it got a little cluttered,” she explained.
That upbringing instilled a sense of order that she maintains to this day. “Daddy made us kids all make our beds when we got out of it in the morning, and that’s what I do still today,” she said.
“I taught Shelby [her son] the same thing. It’s very important to make your bed in the morning, that is a standing rule,” the singer added.
However, despite her emphasis on tidiness, McEntire takes a laid-back approach to hosting, similar to her mother’s parenting style. “Mama didn’t have rules. I never had a curfew in my life — just try not to get hurt,” she recalled.
“My main rule when anybody comes over is to feel at home, be completely relaxed, and have fun.” However, she asks only one thing in return from her guests, “Make yourself at home, but pick up after yourself.”
While many homes have strict rules about removing shoes at the door, McEntire doesn’t enforce such customs. “People will start taking their boots off when we’ve been out there at the barn, and I say ‘Hey, this is the farmhouse, you don’t have to take your shoes off at all,’” she shared.
The country star’s relaxed hosting style is part of what makes time spent at her home so enjoyable. “It’s ‘Shoes on, you stay comfortable,’” she said. “Come on in, just be comfortable.”
McEntire shares her beautiful home with her fiancé, actor Rex Linn. The couple, who have been together since 2020, have built a strong relationship that is filled with love and laughter.
However, before her relationship with the actor, McEntire was married twice. In 1976, she tied the knot with Charlie Battles, a divorced steer-wrestling champion who was ten years her senior. The singer once said:
“I loved Charlie with all my heart, I wanted to marry him…we had a lot of fun. We rodeoed together, we ranched together.”
After saying “I do,” the singer’s career began to take off, and the couple agreed to stay focused on their respective professional lives. However, things turned sour for them when Battles asked her to slow down her career. McEntire decided not to, and they later divorced in 1987.
The country star then married Narvel Blackstock in Lake Tahoe on June 3, 1989, and welcomed their son, Shelby Blackstock, in February 1990.
McEntire met Blackstock while she was married to her first husband in 1980. They started working together afterward and he eventually joined her band as a guitarist.
Their relationship was going well for many years. However, McEntire was blindsided when her second husband filed for divorce in 2015. Nonetheless, she found love again with Linn.
They recently celebrated their fifth anniversary, with McEntire sharing a sweet post on Instagram that read, “Celebrating five years of tater tots this week! ❤️ #thetots #anniversary.”
Speaking about Linn, McEntire gushed, “He’s a very supportive man. I love him with all my heart.” Their love story began during the pandemic when they were forced to rely on phone calls, Zoom chats, and texts to stay connected.
“We didn’t see each other again [that year] until June 16,” McEntire explained. Since making their relationship official, Linn has been a pillar of support for the singer, especially as she took on new projects, including her role as a coach on “The Voice” beginning in Season 24 in 2023.
“Rex meets me at the garage when I get out of the car,” she shared. “He’ll fix me a drink if I need it.” He also knows just what to do to help her unwind.
“He’ll sit there and talk to me because I’ve talked my head off all day long so he knows I just need to relax and chill,” she added. “He even rubs my back.”
Their strong bond eventually led to a proposal. When asked about the possibility of marriage on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” back in October 2023, McEntire responded, “My Sugar Tot? That would be up to him.” “I’ve been married twice, he’s never been married, so if he wants to, that’s totally up to him,” she added.
She admitted she was initially surprised that Linn had never been married but said they “talked it out.” And on Christmas Eve 2024, Linn got down on one knee and proposed at their ranch in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee. The couple confirmed the engagement publicly at the 2025 Emmy Awards in September of that year.
According to a People exclusive from the 2026 Grammy Awards red carpet, McEntire said she and Linn “have the best time working together,” pointing to their shared history on screen across movies, TV dramas, and sitcoms. The 71-year-old added that when Linn proposed, she reflected on all their years of collaboration and felt confident saying yes — noting that being able to work together and still want to come home to each other was all the confirmation she needed.
As for wedding timing, the couple has been enjoying their engagement. McEntire revealed at the 2026 Grammys that Linn’s pickup on the series Stick with Owen Wilson had pushed the wedding back, with his motto being “Work comes first.” The pair remain in no rush, with the ranch in Tennessee already in mind as the setting when the big day does arrive.
In a 2020 Instagram post, McEntire revealed that the couple also keeps chickens on their property. “The Tots, Sugar and Tater, have taken up farming. Meet Mr. Pecker. @rexlinn13 @martiefletcher #mrpecker #werethetots,” the singer typed.
With a beautiful home, a loving partner, and a lifetime of cherished traditions, Reba McEntire has created a sanctuary that is as welcoming as it is unique. Her African Cowboy mansion is more than just a house — it’s a reflection of who she is, a place where guests are treated like family and where love and laughter always fill the air.
